Unemployment Success Stories

Have you gotten a job or started a business? Learned how to thrive as a stay-at-home mom/dad? Invented a perpetual motion machine in your copious spare time?

It's a hard world out there. We all know how shitty unemployment is. Anybody succeeding?

I'll get the party started: My business is going well. I'm going to turn a profit and become a taxpaying citizen. I'm focussed and on-task. My successes are now legitimate points of pride and my "failures" are just learning experiences. (Yay, therapy!)

What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?

Never Give Up!

Aired October 22, 2010 WESH Channel 2 Television News Report, Orlando, Florida

I am hoping that my story will keep some other “laid off” person ENCOURAGED. Although it took 2 years to find another job after being “laid off” – I never stopped looking.

Please share the “link” below with anyone who may be going through what I went through for two years. Sometimes WESH Channel 2 has an “advertisement” on before the story – so please be patient for a few moments!

Inspiration - Income Sources!

Another year is drawing to an end & I have often wondered how other folks were able to general income during this very challenging year for us all.

I am hoping that we can help each other with ideas, advice and suggestions - whatever term you want to label this...

I am one that likes to LEARN how other folks are doing what I want to do, and this time, it is about "financial independence"...

Not so much about becoming rich, but getting to point that at age 53 I am not constantly wondering from "week to week" what bills will be paid(lol).

Surviving Unemployment, a Retrospective

Touch wood, but I have survived unemployment.

Of course, nothing is permanent. Technically self-employed, I actually feel more secure than I ever did in a job. When the current contract ends, there will be another, or I will pursue something else that will make me enough money to live decently. It's nice to have that kind of confidence. Makes life a lot easier.
