Hey, everybody. I posted a response here a week or so ago about an interview I had scheduled, and about working in a crappy job to keep body/soul together.

The interview went very well, and last Friday, they made me an offer. Which I, of course, accepted. It's a position in the admissions dept of an online university.

This will be more money than the call center job I'm currently working, better benefits, a nicer schedule and a shorter commute. And, the best part, it feels like I'm doing the right thing.

Hi, all. Yesterday, I did an online application for a local company that's in my previous industry, submitted it and half hour later, they called! Wow! I have an interview set for Monday morning! It's not a permanent job, but a seasonal long term thing that will carry me thru next February. (If they make an offer, right?) But, hey, that sounds pretty good to me right now. Ok, I don't know if this was one of my good ideas or not, but on a sado-masochistic whim, I went to my previous employer's Web site and found a posting for a job, in a totally different dept, that I am very well qualified for. So I did the online app and skill tests, and I have an interview tomorrow. My thought is better the devil I know....

Just thought I'd share a little good news. I registered with a temp agency this week and they called me this afternoon to give me my first assignment. It's just a one-day thing, data entry, but it's better than nothing.

Is anybody else using temp agencies? Are you finding that they can keep you busy or are there big lags between assignments?
