Updates

Well no new paying job to report. We have had some family issues, that will cause me to stop looking for a while. Actually more like a year. DH will be looking at orders just as soon as the family disaster is scheduled to be over. I will keep up with this site but I am no longer looking for the airline position.

Random Vent

Why is it when you are unemployed and actively looking for work that everyone assumes you are their personal gofor. Just this am I have been kept waiting at the gym to pick up hubby for over 30 min, asked to make sure his uniform shirt gets washed today as he is wearing the last one, asked to sit at the house waiting on Fedex and told to make sure I get a hold of the legal office for some information. I am just so tired of everyone assuming that I am available to run their tasks. Am I the only one out here that has this problem

Happy Monday

Well I hope that this Monday finds you happy. Today I am still looking for a job. I waiting on yet another Airline to call me back. I have been calling the recruiter for a few days now. This is a new one. She told me that they would be calling back with the details of the interview and then no calls that was the week before Thanksgiving. I have has some personal issues so I have not been stressing too bad about it. But now I just would like a call to tell me that they are not interested in me.

Happy Thanksgiving

I know like most of us, I am sitting here starting to dread the holidaze. You know it from when you were working, the period of time from the week before Thanksgiving to New Years Day. It seems that every dime you make evaporates into thin air but you have great Thanksgiving Day Feasts, Fantastic Christmas Gifts under a huge tree and a Sparkling New Years eve. Well dread no more you still can have some of those things. Look into relief agencies to see what they are doing. But even if you do not qualify you can change your menu slightly to still have the feast without the waste.

Now Time to Get Really Afraid

My Hubby is active duty military, which at times has made my job search more difficult. Well today I was catching up on news (ie looking into headlines I ignored while burying my head in the sand), and read the multiple articles on the Military Pay Freeze. I am now really afraid while our pay has not gone up anywhere near enough to cover the inflation rate we have always found a way to pay our bills and not drown in debt. With this pay freeze that statement will no longer be true unless I find work. After over a year of looking for work I still do not have the prized job.

Thank A Veteran Today

Just a reminder, to thank a Soldier, Sailor, Airman or Marine. I know that we all get lost in the job search that we sometimes forget the calendar or just do not want to look at it. But today is one of those days that we need to sit back and be grateful to our military for all the freedoms we do have.

Change in Goverment, Change for Us?

Good Morning All,

I hope that the change in the House and Senate is enough to shake up things. I hope that people will start to have hope again and the economy will speed up. I know for myself I had stopped believing that things would go back to normal. I think we have sent the message listen to your voters. It is time to work together to get the economy back on track. Stop broadcasting that the recession/depression is over and wait until the jobs start coming back to us the unemployed to declare that we are out of the woods. Just my humble opinion on last nights elections.

Where is Everybody!!!

What happened? It seems like everyone must be getting work because we have not had any posts in the last few days. Please tell us you success or troubles. This is a great community so take some time from you morning coffee and check in!!! We miss you and would love to hear updates even if it is just to report Same Old Same Old. Because some of us are beginning to fear that we are the only ones not getting jobs again.

Children and Unemployment

Funny Story:

Is the recession over???

It seems so strange that the news is reporting that the recession ended 15 months ago. I am finding the the recession is turning to a depression at a rapid rate. Every month I find it harder and harder to do the things that 2 years ago I took for granted. You know things like going out to lunch after a volleyball meet of your kids or going to a luncheon that you have to pay for, or paying for treats for the PTA meeting when it is your turn. I have found that in the last fifteen months I have told my kids we can not afford something more than I have the rest of their lives.
