Hi everybody! Your friendly neighborhood moderator, Chuck, here.

This forum is for you to tell the world about yourself. It is recommended that you leave identifying details about yourself out of your introduction. This is not Facebook. Treasure your anonymity.

With that out of the way, here are some guidelines to help you write a compelling introduction:

  • Let your honesty shine through. There is no reason to hide anything. Nobody, including the site admin, knows who you are unless you want them to. It's cleansing to get things off your chest.
  • Cover the "Four 'W's and one 'H'." Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?
  • Sell yourself (and don't sell yourself short). Tell the world how cool you are in a modest way. You never know when somebody out there might want to collaborate on something. Plus, we all need an ego boost so why not puff yourself up a bit?
  • Tell the world what you're looking for, in the most specific terms possible. This is a good way to clarify this in your own mind, but it's interesting to other people too, believe it or not. Maybe somebody out there can help you. You'd be surprised!
  • Know that you're safe here. This is and will always be a troll-free environment. Mean people get kicked out after one warning. It's basically the only rule -- be nice.

So that's it. Hope to hear from you soon!

When life hands you sh*t, make fertilizer.
