unemployment extension

99 and out of luck!

Please don't forget the 99ers. As we move forward in this uncertain economic future, humanity and social kindness is going to be tested. Us 99ers are not the cause of this dilemma... we are victims of a system gone mad with greed and deception. Maybe some of the company CEO's and High level management that were bailed out will be willing to share some of the billions of dollars from their bonuses they didn't deserve. In these troubled times it is criminal and unconstitutional to turn a blind eye on people that worked, voted and paid taxes when things were good and everyone lived in excess.

Depressed and Angry About the Extension

The failure of the unemployment extension has affected me strongly, even though I don't collect. I've been surfing around the web reading discussions on the subject, and it's just... devastating.

One guy told of losing his young wife to cancer two years ago and trying to raise his two young children himself. He's been out of work for 18 months and can't find anything. Now his benefits are running out and he and his boys will be in the streets by the end of the month. They have no food.

Cost of NOT Passing the Unemployment Extension

As everyone should know, the Republicans and a couple of Democrats killed the unemployment extension and jobs bill last week. The reason behind not passing the bill was the cost -- around $25 billion.

Has anyone considered the cost of not passing this bill? I've been surfing around the 'net and have not found much on this subject so I'll take a stab at it.
