I've been floating around out here since June 2006 after leaving a job of 3 years in a low paying medical billing office full of idiots, payroll/insurance abusers, and just plain psychotic unhappy women. I quit that job after a smashing performance in accounts receivables which was delegated to me becuase the idiot that had it let it go into debt so badly, they were in the triple negatives....the whole place was like that!

In 3 months I cleaned up all my accounts, raked in thousands for them arrears they couldn't figure how to do....it was ridiculous! What really got to me was the maltreatment of the elderly (whom they balance billed, completely illegal re: Medicare) and the lack of concern for the patients they were supposed to do billing for....these office bee's just screwed off all day, insurance bills were not resolved=bill the patient because we are too stupid to do it for them. Here I am, coherent, the one who INTRODUCED THE OPERATIONS MANAGER TO THE LAW ABOUT BILLING,CREDENTIALLING BASICALLY ALL THE STUFF THEY SHOULD TRAIN THEIR EMPLOYEES WITH. For Christ's sakes, I had to tell them the laws governing their business....Now how stupid is that??? The good people never stayed too long, sometimes they just never came back.

All I heard all day was: " I hate myself because I'm morbidly obese" or "I feel like killing myself".....it was a real show over there...

So, trying to better myself, I went up the street to an leasing & finance co. and got a job at lower pay w/commission. However the they failed to tell me that I would be paid as a cold-calling telemarketer to obtain social security no#s to run peoples credit...I lasted there 5 weeks... Infrequently temping industrial labor jobs thereafter and also other temporary & hostile office jobs (primarily because I was better than these lazy idiots who go to night school thinking a bachelors degree will get them above the head they hate in the office...)(however, they'll be "paying their student loan w/ their social security check" and still unable to speak directly w/ provider relations like I can)...I finally landed a full time job at a call center in Aug. 07 that lasted until a mass layoff in April 08. I left w/ references from two supervisors...got along w/ everybody,still do, we were a real team when it came to working together. Then in June, I accepted the first job offered to me:as Customer Service Rep at a very small failing manufacturing plant here in the Seacoast of NH.

There I was caught in between two people who simply hated each other and my job relied on their doing theirs.Especially the 55-58 year old "Customer Service Manager" for lack of a better official title, I was told he'd lost many of his "privileges" due to improper methods (and believe I witnessed many). He schlepped into the office after dropping off his purchased adopted daughter daily (due to his whip of a wife who had a higher paying job in the financial sector of a college in NH...) was told she's the boss at home because of her income and gives him orders-like he's responsible for taking the kid to daycare..which cost me about an hour+ time daily of his input by the time he rolled into the office wearing his farmer jeans. He was a prick deep down. I was told by his nemesis, my trainer, that he didn't want me for this job but she & the owner picked me. He refused to train me on the material specifications (industrial product), etc. because MY job title was reception, answer the phone, data entry of purchase orders, faxing, light office work really. But the phone hardly ever rang in the office, there was so little to do because they WERE NOT MAKING THEIR WEEKLY GOALS!!!!!!!!!!!!

One week after I started, I came in, asked for him, naturally he wasn't there yet, and the owner and his nemesis asked me to stay and things would change. He was completely non-compliant with anything they told him to do. One day, one of the three owners, came into the office yelling at him about how he'd contacted one of the accounts in a manner that was previously discussed NOT TO DO. Man, I couldn't believe that one! (Plus, this owner left for a liquid lunch daily about 11:45 am so he was extra wild). This company also did a lot of drop shipping under pseudo names, I was left out that loop pretty much) and his accounts were being sold the same products they were buying from other reps they were selling to...just a big circle jerk to the same end users....One day, I watched the other owner chew his ass out about that one-that he wasn't telling one of his best customers about this because they were buying the same product from somebody else. Maybe he was watching more mesmerizing videos of the male squid because he sure loved his email! He was a loser who'd been warming his seat there for 22 years and they couldn't make him do anything they asked, but I figured they couldn't shitcan him either because he knew so much about the company, circumventing the UPS shipping system because they didn't ship something on time. He was good for that kind of shit. NEVER called his customers back! Most had refused to work with him on product orders and would ask for another rep who was overwhelmed with purchasing manangment etc. Anyway, that was mistake number one. So, on Aug. 17,after a week off, he says to me: "I don't think you're doing a good job here".....I went on unemployment, called back an interview at a bank I'd turned down to take this lousy job-they now refuse to reply to me and continue to advertise for the same job at these banks.....

In Nov. I'm contacted by a temp service 30 miles away because my medical billing resume is so damned good. The company blew off an interview with me and just asked to send me there so I went and everything was rosy for the first week. I could see no one in this office got along but I was polite, kept the conversations to a personal minimum, and the next week no one would speak to me. Once I had to ask for help, this crazy bitch wrote the info down very angrily, I asked her to show how to obtain in the Op.system, she grimaced at me, plugged her I-pod back into her miserable empty head and turned her back to me. Now how nice is that. So a week later, the temp agency's calling my house several times during the day (while I'm 30 miles away at the job....) at 6:30 that night the temp service calls and says "they don't want you back, not a good fit". No shit!

I would've quit but I can't -- I will disqualify myself from unemployment because I refuse to work. It's the law. I've been through this before.) Anyway, in my anger that week, I Googled the I-pod bitch's name and what do I get? Pretty much a picture of why she's so pissed (on top of being divorced and needing some lovin'!) She got a DUI for having an accident right in front of a cop!!! on April 1st this year (no wonder she relied on a ride from the other unhappy broad "training" me)one day the driver didn't come in, nor did she=two bodies MIA on a Monday morning....) After that, this medical billing professional, was taken to their affiliate hospital where they drew blood=DUI and found marijuana and a "controlled substance" in her purse!!! WTF??? And they work for a sports medicine outfit affiliated with a major hospital! She's there dissing my work and I end up unemployed. Two firings in a row! And I'm the one with the problem? Truly, I think not! It's not me who surfed the internet looking for a date (and getting rejected may I add.)taking personal phone calls from people chasing fry cooks for borrowed cash (my boyfriend can't find a job.) These idiots never end. So this Christmas Eve morning, online I'm finally granted unemployment of about $135 weekly after taxes, and I'm still job hunting.

My opinion is: In China these assholes would be shot or sent to a labor camp for such behaviour. Maybe the US should adopt such a policy. Merry Christmas to all us displaced workers, Regards, Perpetual Applicant
