extension of benefits too little, too late for some??

My husband's extension ran out in April, less 2 weeks of state extended benefits in late May. My unemployment ended in June. Last Monday my husband was told he could start a temp job in 2 weeks. Great news! That night my car was reposessed. I din't even like the car, but i needed it. We live 13 miles from the nearest town, the job he will start is 30 miles away, so the glimmer of hope was short lived b/c with one car we are screwed again.
So, now with ALL of our bills past due and a deeper hole to dig out of thanks to our wonderful senators dragging their asses in the hopes of political gain, what have they accomplished? I know others have lost things. How many are facing eviction? How many have disconnected lights and/or phones? And how many have just given up?
Even after the bill passed these inconsiderate, ruthless, self serving asses have still managed to delay it going into effect. Sickening. I consider myself and my family lucky. We still have a roof over our heads. My heartfelt wishes and prayers go out to those who have suffered due to political whims of some politicians who have no clue what it's like to live in the real world. In our shoes I don't think they'd last a week. That being said, to all of us still fighting and hanging on, keep it up. We are better than they give us credit for. We are smarter and stronger than they give us credit for. Don't give up.

This is getting so hard for me to take

So many good people are suffering so profoundly. I need to take a break from this site.

I like the way you finish your post on a positive note, but the reality is so stark that it makes me want to cry at times.

When life hands you sh*t, make fertilizer.

Stay strong Chuck

You have brought so many together on this site. You have done all of us a service, we can vent, rant, cry if need be, but most of all we can share ideas, opinions and support for each other. You have done a wonderful thing here Chuck. The tragedies posted here make me want to cry at times too. Take the time if you need it. Just remember, you've created a bridge for us, a way for us to stay in touch, develop new friendships and not feel so alone. Stay strong man. You as well as everyone else in this situation will be in my prayers.

Amen

It's hard to keep on keepin' on...when the "pros" are in charge.
