99 and out of luck!

Please don't forget the 99ers. As we move forward in this uncertain economic future, humanity and social kindness is going to be tested. Us 99ers are not the cause of this dilemma... we are victims of a system gone mad with greed and deception. Maybe some of the company CEO's and High level management that were bailed out will be willing to share some of the billions of dollars from their bonuses they didn't deserve. In these troubled times it is criminal and unconstitutional to turn a blind eye on people that worked, voted and paid taxes when things were good and everyone lived in excess. This could truly be the beginning of social break down on a grand scale. What are we going to tell our children in 5 or 10 years when hard working, good hearted people became homeless and are not able to feed themselves and their families? Well, little Suzy or Brian some people and companies defrauded the government and took billions from the system and caused the destruction of our economic stability world wide. It's just not fair for so few to have so much and so many to have so little. Every politician has made a promise and took an oath to guard us from such a financial disaster... we see now those were all lies, horrible shameful lies. I search like hell everyday and pray to get a job before my unemployment runs out... PLEASE, FOR GOD SAKE DON'T TURN YOUR BACK ON US. We played by the rules for all of our lives, Some of us just need a little more time. MAY GOD BLESS THIS BROKEN COUNTRY AND RESTORE SOME ACCOUNTABILITY AND HONESTY!

"99ers" -- I like that

I assume you mean the 99 percent of us who are nowhere close to being rich.

You are probably right that social breakdown is inevitable if they don't fix this economic injustice. The rich and powerful will suffer the most because they have the most to lose... and they're vastly outnumbered. You'd think they with their fancy schoolin' would have considered the vast benefit to themselves of living in a healthy society. Alas, all that fancy schoolin' seems to have done is caused them to believe Ayn Rand and Milton Friedman while completely misunderstanding Adam Smith and (yes) Karl Marx, both of whom understood the relation of labor to wealth.

All that being said, let's try to remain somewhat positive. We can still steer this in a palatable direction. It doesn't need to turn into Mad Max Meets the French Revolution.

When life hands you sh*t, make fertilizer.

Definition of 99ers

Thanks for the comment sir,

Definition of 99ers:
They are the 99ers, people who have exhausted the maximum 99 weeks of unemployment benefits available in some states. They're a new animal, as Congress extended the number of weeks available to the laid-off in response to this recession, and their ranks will swell to a million this year. The House will vote on a bill today to preserve the four "tiers" that make up those 99 weeks, set to expire on June 1, through November. The Senate has already left town for its Memorial Day recess; the program will briefly lapse before the senators return to give their approval.
