Ok, I don't know if this was one of my good ideas or not, but on a sado-masochistic whim, I went to my previous employer's Web site and found a posting for a job, in a totally different dept, that I am very well qualified for. So I did the online app and skill tests, and I have an interview tomorrow. My thought is better the devil I know....

well that was a waste of my time.
went into the former employer for the interview. they had me do some basic tests - typing etc., - and then said, we'll letcha know. no face to face interview, nada. and when i got home, there was the email saying thanks but no thanks. it's ok, they were paying less for this more advanced job, than i was making when i left. what a screwed up place.

Sorry it did not work out. I have still not heard from my old company. I still hope to, I left in good standing. I just needed to leave at the time.

Update
Well I got a email today from my old company, asking for more information. I replied and now the ball is back in their court. The odd thing is that I am not really happy even though this is the most action I have gotten on my resume in over a month. Well I will give you all updates.

I hope it works out for you! Congratulations and keep us posted. My fingers are crossed for you. I have an interview this Friday at a local university, a friend who works there hooked me up. Maybe we'll both have good news soon, and it will be contagious to everybody else!
