Mornings
Knowing I have a full day to torture myself is daunting.

Mornings are the worse. I
Mornings are the worse. I get up and realize that I don't have a job to go to and what lies ahead for the rest of the day is looking for work, maybe applying to a job, hoping that I get either an email or phone call for an interview.
Not much to look forward to when you don't have any money to do fun activities and knowing that even if you do apply for a job that you may not hear anything for weeks or months, if ever.
I hate the mornings because,
I hate the mornings because, everyday when I wake up I'm reminded that I do not have job to go to.
Mornings are Worse
I come to the realization that I'm no longer on a clock or time sheet. The good part is that I can sleep "in". The bad part is that I'm not being held accountable for the first thing in the morning. I don't HAVE to be anywhere. That is, unless I choose to. I like a little bit of regularity and my wife provides that most of the time.
Remember
It is a job to look for work. Many of the advice columnist over the years have told us, "We will get a job if we take looking for work as a job" Get up, get dressed and log on to the computer or make phone calls or work on your resume.
However I also fall into the trap of thinking I do not have anything to do so why get up. Why get dressed? etc. But if I have resumes out I could always be someone's first call of the day and I would not want to sound like they just woke me.
(BTW I did have that happen, hubby was off for the day so I slept in and guess what I got a 8am call. I sounded sleepy and was asked if the recruiter had correctly adjusted for the timezones. Opps. ) So after that, I make sure that I am coherent by 9am et. I am applying to jobs all over the nation. So I may hate getting up but I do it anyway.
Good luck, I hope you have a better day.

It's hard to do a "job" that doesn't pay
Yeah, it's a job to look for a job -- but the pay sure sucks!
Everybody should do the job of looking for a job but don't burn out. Just devote a good couple of hours every day and find other productive ways to spend the rest of the time. Nothing is more discouraging than spending eight hours a day, day after day, looking for a "job" and coming up empty for weeks, months, and years on end.
When life hands you sh*t, make fertilizer.
I would flip that around
The BAD part is that you can sleep in (and you apparently do).
The good part is that you can hold yourself accountable for the first thing in the morning. This is all in your power to control.
Get your ass out of bed early, and develop a productive routine! (Sorry if that's harsh...)
When life hands you sh*t, make fertilizer.
Worse Time of Week
I hate the midweek because I am starting to fear that I will not get any interviews. But the best time is Monday mornings because I know there will be new job listings.

Sunday night
Sunday night. It used to be the time where I got mentally ready for the next week of work. Now it is the time I remember I really have no where to be Monday morning.
Best time of week
On a good week, it's Friday. On a bad week, it's Monday.
When life hands you sh*t, make fertilizer.
Wednesday
There is still time to get some phone calls.
this week
This week the midweek is looking better than the last month. I have been asked to take two online assessments, both for companies that are in my industry and I have been contacted by a temp company to make sure I can still can work for them. Not the perfect solution but enough to get some of the debt taken care of. I am now just waiting to see if the Company that the temp group wants me and for a phone call from one of the two companies.
