We Need Good News

I was thinking that I would put a place out here so everyone could post their good news. It does not have to be work related just something to focus on instead of the heartbreak of hunting for and not finding work.
I will start it off. My family babied me all weekend for my B-day. I was treated to a cake made by my daughter and three wonderful dinners made by hubby.

Todays Good News
It is a small one but at least it is one. I have sent out PTA meeting notes. Keeping up with my Volunteer obligations. I also will be attending a Membership Drive for another Organization I am on the board for. So I will have a great day. Now if only I could get the Company I interviewed with to hurry up and call me.

Had a doctor's appointment
Had a doctor's appointment today, the doctor went to med school in my home town, so we had a lovely chat about that, he was sweet guy. Yesterday, I was notified that for one of the fed jobs I applied for, I was found to be well qualified and so my resume was forwarded to the selection folks, so that's a good thing.

A federal job? Wow! Those are the best jobs out there. I hope the selection folks find you as well qualified as the ones who sent your resume along. Congrats on having made this big step forward in the process.

title is appellate support clerk. you know, I was talking last night to a friend who works for a govt contractor and he really shot me down. He basically said this was a meaningless thing and I probably had no hope in hell of getting the job. I thanked him for his "honesty" and stuck a pin in a voodoo doll bearing his name. People can be such jerks.

That's great news!
I'm so glad you had a nice birthday weekend with your family. Call me superstitious, but I've always believed that the birthday sets the tone for the whole year to come.
I have good news too: My wife and I moved into our new apartment over the weekend -- not as nice as my old apartment, but it's nice to be together again. We have a little more floor space, two bedrooms (instead of one enormous one), a dining area... but we lost the high ceilings, showcase-beautiful hardwood floors, huge windows, and excellent neighborhood where I knew everybody. Oh well -- I still know those people. Now there are new people to meet, and I got the girl (and she got me) so that's kinda' kool. Seems like there might just be a happily-ever-after for us...

I am really happy for you and your wife. Enjoy the new place. The first few months are always my favorite time. As a frequent mover (military wife), I have done my fair share of new apartments. Enjoy have fun!

Good News Thursday
I have had a few more inquiries on the resumes out there, so I am hoping to hear more. I have been contacted by the company that I interviewed with and was told it would be a few more weeks, good news because they did not tell me that I was no longer a candidate. So overall for a Thursday it is a pretty good day.

Keep the positive thinking on it! I just got back from an interview with a local chiropractor, I liked the people and I think they liked me - the problem is the pay is pretty low and there's no benefits, except you get free chiro/holistic care at the office and a free gym membership. And it's a 4 day week. They said they'd let me know by next week at the latest.

You are so right about that. I'll be delirious if they make me an offer, and I'll deal with the rest of it. I'll keep you all posted, and hope you all have an enjoyable and safe Labor Day weekend!
Good News Not much just trying to stay Positive
My daughter who always seems to struggle in school has all As and one C. I am proud of her. I just figured for a belated Monday, we could use some positive vibes.
