More shocking unemployment numbers

Nearly five million Americans collect unemployment claims.

That's a record. How many more are like me, underemployed (and again on the verge of unemployed) and not eligible to collect? How many newly graduated students can neither find jobs nor collect unemployment? How many workers had their claims denied?

I don't know those answers, but I would venture to guess that there are now at least 15 million adults in this country who are unable to provide for their families. If the average household consists of 3 people, that's 45 million people hurting bad.

Meanwhile, Wall Street paid itself $20 billion in bonuses -- that's after they stole $700 billion of taxpayer money (actually, $700 billion of taxpayers' grandchildrens' money since every dime of the bailout was borrowed -- from where, nobody seems to know.)

Is it just me, or is something seriously screwed up?
